|Hypnotherapist & Counsellor|
|Shirley Owen studied hypnotherapy at The Blue Stone Clinic, Upper Harley Street, London and qualified in 1986. In 1987 she set up her own practice in Llandudno, North Wales and has been in practice ever since. Today she practices counselling and hypnotherapy and is living in Llechwedd, Conwy (3 miles outside Conwy town).
Since her initial training ongoing growth and development have been of importance and she has attended courses and workshops on different psychotherapy approaches. In 1995 she embarked upon a counselling course at The Llandrillo College, North Wales and successfully gained The Diploma in Counselling (Bangor 1998).
Shirley practices both hypnotherapy and counselling and has combined the two in her hypno-counselling approach. By communicating with the subconscious level of the mind where emotions are rooted and core beliefs held it is possible to assist clients through a wonderful process of change to help them accomplish their goal. Her approach is client centred and she specialises in emotionally related conditions. She is a member of the British Association of Counsellors and attends ongoing supervision.
Shirley has developed an integrated model using hypnosis and counselling that works well for a wide range of conditions such as panic attacks, anxiety states, fears, smoking cessation, weight loss, low self esteem, sports motivation, exam nerves, sleep problems, mind-body healing and many other conditions. Her hypnotic induction has been welcomed as a most calming and soothing experience.
In 2003 Shirley submitted her dissertation entitled “Counselling and Hypnosis an Integrated Model” and successfully gained her M. Ed.
